Oh, ye mortals always ready for slavery
the god was disgusted at such base servility
of these servants and all god’s interventions
in humans’ life started from the nausea
this creature eternally in his soul decants
his furies, hardly calming down his wrath
caused by offence he gives us an appalling
example of these dismembered times’ misfortune
and savagery ‒ thieves, informants, criminals
walk on our heads, a species of humans
that have become a public and natural calamity
that had never existed in other times swallow
the life, the air, the money sell all even what
is not for sale telling us that the war
is coming and the war will be hard, harsh
and bloody with innumerable dead people
and devastation. Even now, not far away
are lying down corpses of humans, the wounds
and the thirst killed them everything is infected
by pus, by stench, by epidemic and the cannibals
are no longer satiated by devouring human flesh
slaying one another. Zeus took the mortal by the hand
drew his attention to it by the fact that he doesn’t reign
that doesn’t mean he’s offended. The blows are
uncertain the wounds unexpected.
