OUR DEAR LITTLE COUNTRY

 Our dear little country
looks rather pathetic
often I find her fainted
academicians unanimously
conclude
that she has never eaten
her fill, that she scatters
money like crazy to all kinds
of cannibals and thieves.
Wallachian theologians claim
that the dear little country is not part
of the Creation – there was not enough
breath left for her.
Let us content ourselves with poverty,
anonymity, and death.
