THE RUMANIAN

 Unfortunate and frivolous,
this stupid Rumanian
hops on one foot
like a tiny grain
dancing upon the bass drum;
he cannot distinguish the descent
from the downfall, the ill fate
from true disaster.
And so he oscillates
between the heights and the dirt,
and within it, finds his purpose.
